    An invitation to travel the intermediate world

    OVNI // desorg.org, in collaboration with the CC Sant Agustí and the Institut Francès de Barcelona, present a participatory live cinema with Vincent Moon.
    Independent filmmaker and sound explorer, Vincent Moon has spent ten years recording ancestral tonalities and rhythms around the world, embodied in artistic and musical forms of roots, popular and experimental, which he returns later during the Live-Cinema: "Film is an excuse to create a very special moment in the present, in the reality of the now". An invitation to a soulful journey through the in-between world. "The encounter is the fundamental one. Meeting people, like the Troubadours".

    Vincent Moon will spend a week in Barcelona and Catalunya, going to meet and film artists, rituals and soundscapes. The Live-Cinema will take place in the patio of the C.C. Convent de Sant Agustí on Friday, March 22nd
    Under the title The Black Antisun, this 2024 the Unidentified Video Observatory presents this first activity: an invitation to travel the world in between.

    //  BIO  //

    Vincent Moon
    France
    Vincent Moon (1979) is an independent filmmaker from Paris. He was the main director of the Blogotheque's Take Away Shows, a web-based project recording field work music videos of indie rock related musicians as well as some notable mainstream artists like Tom Jones, R.E.M., or Arcade Fire. For the past six years, Vincent Moon has been traveling around the globe with a camera in his backpack, documenting local folklores, sacred music and religious rituals, for his label Collection Petites Planètes. He works alone or with people he finds on the road, and most of the time without money involved in the projects, trying to produce and distribute films without following the established industry standards. He shares all his work, films and music recordings, for free on internet, under a Creative Commons license.

    OVNI

    The Unidentified Video Observatory - Desorg dot Org is a research project structured thematically that aims to encourage and enable a critique of contemporary culture and society, using strategies based on the expansive and heterodox use of video as a medium, the still image and the web context.
    OVNI has always chosen to avoid prefabricated models and formats and to focus on research: research also in the sense of the adventure of the quest for knowledge in the contemporary world. In the era of serialized images, OVNI speaks of things as yet “unidentified”, of the unforeseen, and of that which ventures into the unknown.
    The OVNI Archives record and document three key decades spanning from analogue video to digital video in the age of “social” media. The Archives are the result of the various thematic research projects carried out over the years: a constellation of works that differ from one another, but share a commitment to freedom of expression and reflect on our individual and collective fears and pleasures. Together, they offer a multifaceted view, thousands of tiny eyes that probe and explore our world and announce other possible worlds. A research process that values and attends to the heterogeneity, contradiction, and subjectivity that it springs from. This in itself is an antidote to the cloning and repetition in the age of hyperconnectivity.
