  Sometimes, in a stroke of fortune, the machine breaks down and cracks, dysfunctions and gaps appear in the programme, dead times that paradoxically are the condition of possibility for life to appear and thus begin something of a journey in those displacements. The unknown reaches us, floods our knowledge, which quickly becomes a legend. Submerged under a liquid and changing reality, the membrane of pre-seen images is torn, the vision opens up.

  Transition by necessity and vocation towards a remote and nameless place of stillness and closeness. In a first stage viewing-audition of two early pieces from the ‘Black Tapes’ series, Interzona and VideoLabyrinth by Toni Serra, media nightmares, mirages, image labyrinths and the intuition of a narrow crack that leads to another place. In a second stage, let us be carried away by the wind, Wahab, Dar al Ajira and 7 Contemplations by Abu Ali.

  We propose a subsequent conversation about two apparently opposite poles that finally show themselves to be part of a single continuity. Notes on the journey of Toni Serra * ) Abu Ali.
