Basil Gelpke is a social anthropologist by training and an economist at heart. He began his career as a gaffer in the film industry and soon became one of the youngest TV journalists at Swiss broadcaster SRF. He later worked as a producer and Paris correspondent for international business news channels, collaborating with figures like Johannes Gross. He was part of the founding team of Germany’s first 24-hour news channel, n-tv, and played a key role in launching NZZ Format for the Neue Zürcher Zeitung. His clients have included tv3 Switzerland, Canal+ France, Netflix, and major corporations such as Swissair and Credit Suisse. Today, he lives and works mainly in Switzerland and the Asia-Pacific region.
