Born in the year 1976 in Dersim, Özay Şahin worked as an actress and a juggler from 1989 to 2001. At the TAZ Newspaper the following year she wrote articles about culture and arts. She began to make shortfilms in 1997. She studied Audio and Video Design at the Digital Media Academy and at the Kaskaline Film Academy. She is still currently teaching at the Atıf Yılmaz Studios.
