Malaga, 1959 Philologist, poet and visual artist. Since the late 1970s, as a member of the group that will become the activist group Agustín Parejo School, organizes demonstrations, concerts and exhibitions, carries out publishing projects, poetic interventions in the urban space and practices copy art and experimental poetry. In the 1980s, López Cuenca combined the methods of visual art and the usual procedures of literature and the social sciences: he worked with stickers, manifestos, traffic signs, pedestrian crossings and advertising mupis. From the second half of the 1990s, López Cuenca began to work on the representation and construction of the identity of the other, with respect to the individual and collective identity of the West. This issue still remains today as one of the main themes of his work. Since the early 2000s, the artist has carried out a large number of collaborative projects with which the revision of official history is proposed, through interventions in urban space and the design of "alternative cartographies".
