Fabrizio Gatti is an undercover reporter who writes for the Italian weekly L'expresso. His most famous exploit was his 2006 article (based on his experience while posing as an migrant worker) on the working conditions of tomato-pickers in the southern Italian region of Puglia entitled Io schiavo in Puglia (I was a slave in Puglia), conditions which he equates to slavery. The article won the 2006 European Union Journalist Award. He is author of Viki che voleva andare a scuola (2003), Bilal.
