Pedro Ortuño is a multimedia artist born in Valencia (Spain) in 1966. Doctor in Fine Arts from the Polytechnic University of Valencia in 2002. Currently Professor of Fine Arts at the University of Murcia. He combines teaching art making and research with the curating audiovisual exhibitions.
As an artist, he has been exhibiting his work internationally since 1990 at such institutions as: The Museum and Center for Humanistic Studies (MCEH), Puerto Rico (2018), Palau de la Virreina, Barcelona (2018), Latin American Film Festival of Havana, Cuba, (2017), Kaunas Castle Museum of Lithuania (2016), Museo do Lanificio de Covilha, in Portugal (2013), Valencia Institute of Modern Art – IVAM (2012), Parallel Events Manifesta 8, Murcia (2010); Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe ZKM, Germany (2009); Espaivisor, Valencia (2009); Gasworks, London (2008); Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, (1995, 2006, 2008); Sala Verónicas, Murcia, (2007); Medialab Madrid-PhotoEspaña, (2004); Metrònom Foundation, Barcelona, (2002); II Valencia Biennial, Líneas de fuga (2001); La Gallera Hall, Valencia, (1998); Parpalló Hall, Valencia (1995); Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) of New York (1993-1994); II Barcelona Biennial (1992); Osnabruck European Media Art Festival (1991). He has curated various audiovisual exhibitions and programs, such as Miradas al videoarte at the Puertas de Castilla Cultural Center in Murcia (2006-2016), and Off Bollywood at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (2009) and Sala Parpalló in Valencia (2010).
